The Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation creates a framework for product-specific sustainability requirements. It also provides for digital product passports through the applicable measures. The framework does not mean every product already needs a passport. Existing product-specific ecodesign rules and transition arrangements still need careful assessment.
How we support this
We identify the relevant product group and applicable measures, request supporting evidence and distinguish current requirements from future implementation tasks.
Energy labelling, EPREL and digital product passports are separate scope questions. Do not present them as universal obligations for all products.
